Welcome to our Live Log Program!
Birchland Plywood-Veneer Ltd. is enabling you the customer the ability to view exactly what we have in flitchstock and what we can produce from our vast inventory by introducing our live log program.... We have domestic, exotics and reconstituted logs available.
We are updating the site daily as we take images of all the logs/flitches and upload the tally sheets...the site will be growing DAILY.
Our live log program will allow you to see photos of the actual log and an exact tally sheet of what we have in stock as well as a downloadable version of the tally sheet to assist you and your customers on decision making when purchasing plywood or veneers.
We hope that by involving the "end user" in the selection of the wood they will feel like they are right at the mill alongside us selecting their flitchstock for their orders.
The process is simple;
A) Define what your customer needs in terms of:
Species
Cut
Grade
Color or grain specifics.
B) Go to birchlandplywood.com...click on "Birchland Live Log Program".
Pick either Domestic, Exotics or our new line of reconstituted woods from Alpi-made in Italy..depending on what your customer needs.
C) Select the species you want...for instance "Qtr Red Gum"
You will then be shown all the red gum logs we have in stock.
You can then review pictures of that log with your customer.
The log tally will tell you the width of the components for that log and the logs length.
D) Once you find a log your customer likes.
Record the log # which is attached to each image.
Send the logs # along with:
Species
Grade
Cut
Thickness
Board type- pbc, mdf, vc, combi vc/mdf, performance core/osb, multi-core etc.
Size
Any special color or grain demands or minimum sequence sizes.
Any special matching- end matched, center balance etc.
Send all this information to your local sales representative for a quote on the specific log your customer has chosen.
We will provide you with a price within 30 minutes.
We feel that having this tool will enable our customers to know exactly what they are buying and even give you the option of choosing your own log / flitch!
There will be 3 to 6 photos of each log. One close up to show the grain and color, The other images will show the overall look of the log photographed from different angles.
This site as stated above is growing daily as we upload our massive inventory of domestic and exotic species.
